Salvation Army Adult Rehabilitation Center
Free, long-term residential recovery program with work therapy — no insurance required
About the Salvation Army ARC
The Salvation Army Adult Rehabilitation Center (ARC) offers completely free long-term residential recovery programs across multiple California locations, including Los Angeles. No insurance is required — the program is funded through Salvation Army thrift store operations and donations.
The ARC program uses a work therapy model where participants spend part of each day working in Salvation Army operations (typically thrift stores) and part in counseling, group sessions, and faith-based programming. Programs last 6-12 months, providing the extended treatment duration that research shows leads to the best outcomes for long-term sobriety. While faith-based, the program welcomes individuals of all backgrounds.
